This may be getting to be more metaphysical than "Thoughts for the Day" need to be, but Srila Prabhupada was extremely fond of quoting the Vedanta Sutra verse that says janmady asya jatah. He often said that all things, including thoughts and feelings originate in Krsna. Therefore turning lust into prema should not be that difficult, because true love originates from the Original Person.
