In a letter to Mandali Bhadra dated 25 May 1969, Srila Prabhupada wrote: "But in everything we do devotion and sincerity are the real things. There is a word in Sanskrit; bhava grahi Janardana: This means the Lord accepts service in devotional emotion. If we are sincere in offering something to the Lord in devotional love, He will accept it. The procedure may not be very right, but the desire being sincere, He accepts our offering.

Influence

The influence of the age is so pervasive that even Krsna's own peers suspected him 10. 57.41: "After the almighty Lord had shown the Syamantaka jewel to His relatives, thus dispelling the false accusations against Him, He returned it to Akrura."

The fourth verse of Upadesamrita,

"dadati pratigrhnati, guhyam akhyati prcchati, bhunkte bhojayate caiva, sad-vidham priti-laksanam

(Offering gifts in charity, accepting charitable gifts, revealing one's mind in confidence, inquiring confidentially, accepting prasada and offering prasada are the six symptoms of love shared by one devotee and another)"

Krishna consciousness Solves All Problems

Submitted by Mukunda Goswami on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 07:00.
Thought For the Day:

In Srila Prabhupada's printed word, there are over 30 instances of him saying that all the problems of the world can be solved by Krishna consciousness. This is a fact we should be convinced about, by thinking or speaking of these problems one by one, seeing how individual and collective Krishna consciousness can solve them.

Fighting for Krishna

Submitted by Mukunda Goswami on Sun, 11/16/2008 - 07:00.

The global village we live in is a corporate dictatorship. Corporations
tend to mistreat their employees, animals and the environment. They
have large amounts of discretionary income at their disposal to
brainwash consumers, and legally and illegally bribe governments to
support them. Activism to stop this tendency has to be Krishna
consciousness and educational based. Boycotting, protesting hi-profile,
objecting on the Internet, etc., have been getting extremely limited
results.

Krishna Propaganda

Who'll win the propaganda war? What is freedom and what is slavery? Are
we 'free' to act. Are the bombardments by TV, billboards, net ads,
magazine and newspaper ads having an affect? Of course they are. People
are slaves to them, although they think they have 'freedom' of choice.
But by following the regulative principles of freedom as enunciated by
Srila Prabhupada we can win the propaganda war, at least for ourselves.
Eventually we want the Krishna consciousness movement to win the
propaganda war.

Conquered by Love

Devotional service is so powerful Krishna is conquered by it. How
should we want to conquer Krsna? Not like Pundarika. Krishna can only
be conquered if He wants to be, and it is always by love.

Just a Pinch

If there is even "a pinch" (Srila Prabhupada's expression) of material
desire, one cannot attain the spiritual world. Here's what Srila
Prabhupada said about this in LA on 26 May 1972:
"This is
significant. Those who are Krsna conscious, they have no material
desires. Finished. Brahmany upasamasrayam. Upasama, upasama means
completely finished, don't want. They can worship the Supreme
Personality of Godhead. Otherwise, without being akama ... Akama means
no material desires. Anyabhilasita-sunyam [BRS.1.1.11],

Affairs of the Heart

Submitted by Mukunda Goswami on Wed, 11/12/2008 - 07:00.

Thought For the Day

Through Srimad Bhagavatam and Caitanya Caritamrita we find reference to
the "heart" or hrdaya. In these references the heart is far from a
central bodily organ that pumps blood to the rest of human body. These
'affairs of the heart' are addressed thousands of times in the Vedic
literature in a very thorough way - a way that comprehends feelings,
emotions, psychology, viewpoints and visions. This concept of the heart
is more like a vision. It's a deep set of feelings that can be material
or spiritual. When the heart becomes attached to Krsna we are indeed
